We are excited to launch the new state-of-the-art reporting tool: Research, Interests, and Activities (RIA). This new application provides Faculty with a single location for the disclosure of outside interests and activities and a method of conducting research relatedness assessments. Additionally, the disclosures included in the tool ensure compliance with Penn policies and meet the requirements of funding agencies.
RIA leverages data from existing Penn systems by integrating with Penn Community, PennERA, HS-ERA, Inteum, and the Research Inventory System (RIS) to simplify the disclosure process.
Effective July 24, 2023, RIA is being used for new and active PHS and PCORI sponsored projects. PHS-FITS has been decommissioned and historical data is available as read-only for reference purposes. In the fall, RIA will be expanded to include all research projects and protocols, at which time FIDES will be decommissioned.
Effective July 31, 2023, RIA is being used for annual extramural reporting for Penn Dental Medicine. The Perelman School of Medicine will be using the tool for annual extramural reporting beginning spring 2024.
